デザイナー久保嘉男は、フィラデルフィア・スクール・オブ・テキスタイル&サイエンスを卒業。ニューヨークのオートクチュールデザイナー、Robert Danes(ロバート・デンス)の元でアシスタントを経験し、帰国後の2004年に「yoshiokubo(ヨシオクボ)」を設立。流れるような独特のカッティングや、異素材のミックス、nowartt(ノワート)との協業によるグラフィックから作り上げるオリジナルのファブリックなど、デザインに特化したコレクションを展開。
2017年には、GIORGIO ARMANI(ジョルジオ・アルマーニ)支援プログラムの新進デザイナーに抜擢され、ミラノコレクションにてコレクションを発表。また、世界的なスポーツメーカーPUMA(プーマ)との新ライン「yoshiokubo by PUMA」もスタートするなど、常にトピックを発信し続け注目を集めています。
Designer Yoshio Kubo graduated from the Philadelphia School of Textiles & Science. He worked as an assistant to haute couture designer Robert Danes in New York before returning to Japan and establishing ‘yoshiokubo’ in 2004. The collection specialises in design with unique flowing cuts, a mix of different materials and original fabrics created from graphics in collaboration with Nowartt.
In 2017, he was selected as an emerging designer for the GIORGIO ARMANI support programme and presented his collection at the Milan Collection. The brand also continues to keep on releasing new topics and attracting attention, such as the launch of the new line ‘yoshiokubo by PUMA’ with the global sports manufacturer PUMA.
