Designer Arashi Yanagawa has an unconventional background as a former professional boxer. After retiring, he moved to the UK, where he gained experience in buying and selling vintage clothing. Heavily influenced by British fashion at the time, and driven by a desire to "create a cool jacket myself," he taught himself British tailoring and established "JOHN LAWRENCE SULLIVAN" in 2003. JOHN LAWRENCE SULLIVAN is defined by designs that are meticulous down to the millimeter, based on the concept of a "masculine image possessing both strength and elegance." The collection centers on highly acclaimed tailored jackets, as well as setups, shirts, and denim. While rooted in traditional British tailoring, the brand has led the domestic men's fashion scene by introducing styles that incorporate military and sports elements. Since debuting at Paris Fashion Week in 2011 and moving its showcase to London Fashion Week in 2017, the brand continues to evolve, constantly taking on new challenges as it shares its vision with the world.
