Launched in 1988 as Maison Martin Margiela, the brand made its Paris collection debut in the 1989 SS.
John Galliano was appointed Creative Director in 2014, and the following year the brand was renamed Maison Margiela. The following year, the brand changed its name to Maison Margiela.
