Designer Arashi Yanagawa has an unconventional background as a former professional boxer. After retiring, he moved to the UK, where he gained experience in buying and selling vintage clothing. Heavily influenced by British fashion at the time, and driven by a desire to "create a cool jacket myself," he taught himself British tailoring and established "JOHN LAWRENCE SULLIVAN" in 2003. JOHN LAWRENCE SULLIVAN is defined by its designs, which are meticulously crafted down to the millimeter, based on the concept of a "masculine figure that possesses both strength and elegance." The brand offers a collection centered on highly acclaimed tailored jackets, as well as setups, shirts, and denim. While rooted in traditional British tailoring, the brand has led the domestic men's fashion scene by introducing styles that incorporate military and sports aesthetics. After advancing to Paris Fashion Week in 2011 and moving its showcase to London Fashion Week in 2017, the brand continues to challenge itself and evolve, sharing its vision with the world.
