Designer Tetsuya Doi started this brand in 2016.
After graduating from Tokyo Mode Gakuen and Bunka Fashion Graduate University, he worked in fashion design at Kokono no Gakko (coconogacco)/Me, and started his activities as "RequaL≡" in 2016. He won the Honourable mention from the jury at the 34th Hyères International Mode Festival in the mode category.

The brand name means "Re:equaL ≡ Re: unit of time / :equal = always = equal (≡). The brand is characterized by its structured form and dynamic design.
