About the Brand
After graduating from Tokyo Mode Gakuen and working as a corporate designer, Masayuki Ino established the brand "doublet" in 2012 alongside pattern maker Takashi Murakami. In 2013, he was selected as a business-supported designer in the professional category of the "2013 Tokyo New Designer Fashion Awards," where he received the highest honor, the Tokyo Governor's Award. Based on the concept of "daily wear with a sense of discomfort," the brand offers playful, real-life clothing. doublet's designs are characterized by their sophisticated "embroidery techniques," such as humorously fringe-like embroidery work and the layering of various characters and motifs seen on signature items like the Sukajan (souvenir jacket). After winning the 3rd Tokyo Fashion Award in 2016 and presenting their first runway show at Tokyo Fashion Week in 2017, the brand won the LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize in 2018, garnering attention as one of the most exciting brands today.
