In 2013, designer Takayuki Kijima rebranded his label from "coeur" to his own name, "KIJIMA TAKAYUKI," launching with both men’s and women’s lines. KIJIMA TAKAYUKI is a hat brand based on the concept of "designs that enhance styling," incorporating the zeitgeist captured from various inspirations through the designer’s unique perspective and sense of balance. For five years, from 1990 to 1994, Kijima apprenticed under the late Akio Hirata, a leading figure in hat design. During this time, he was involved in creating hats for Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto, and Comme des Garçons, mastering European haute couture techniques. He established his atelier in Daikanyama, Tokyo, in 1995 and opened a flagship store in 1999. At the atelier, skilled artisans meticulously craft each piece by hand, employing unique techniques that produce a soft, comfortable fit impossible to achieve through mass production. Through collaborations with brands such as TOGA and TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloIst, the label provides intricate hand-crafted expressions and traditional techniques. In the Fall/Winter 2017 season, KIJIMA TAKAYUKI launched its high-end line, "HIGH LINE," featuring collections that utilize rare materials and luxurious fabrics, showcasing the designer’s enduring values through traditional haute couture techniques. KIJIMA TAKAYUKI’s collections are presented twice a year in Tokyo and Paris and are available both domestically and internationally.
