In 2013, designer Takayuki Kijima rebranded his label from its predecessor, "coeur," to his own name, "KIJIMA TAKAYUKI," launching with both men's and women's lines. KIJIMA TAKAYUKI is a hat brand that incorporates the atmosphere of the times through a unique perspective and sense of balance, with a concept rooted in "designs that enhance styling." From 1990 to 1994, Kijima apprenticed under the late Akio Hirata, a leading figure in hat design. During this time, he was involved in creating headwear for Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto, and Comme des Garçons, mastering European haute couture techniques. He established his atelier in Daikanyama, Tokyo, in 1995 and opened a flagship store in 1999. In the atelier, skilled artisans meticulously craft each piece by hand, employing unique techniques that produce a soft, comfortable fit impossible to achieve through mass production. Collaborations with brands such as TOGA and TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloIst showcase his commitment to intricate handcrafting and traditional techniques. In the 2017 Fall/Winter season, KIJIMA TAKAYUKI introduced its high-end line, "HIGH LINE." This collection expresses the designer's enduring values by utilizing rare materials and luxurious fabrics, all crafted through traditional haute couture methods. KIJIMA TAKAYUKI's collections are presented twice a year in Tokyo and Paris and are available both domestically and internationally.
